Elie Wiesel (the author) believes that remembering the Holocaust will help to ensure that this type of atrocity does not occur in the future. Do you think learning about historical events can guide people to behave differently? Please explain.

  1. I think so!! But there is a war going on right now and who knows what else it can lead to. But if it does lead to world-wide war then how people survived the other wars and what had happened, will be important to know. People take history class for granted but it’s really worth knowing how to prevent war and how to survive (if it ever happens). Violence isn’t ok, and people from every nation should know that. The history of war and the reasons they started should be known by every man/woman running a country. If they paid any attention in history class…we don’t know, but we can hope for the best can’t we?!?!

  2. I think learning about it helps to prevent reacurence. because if you didn’t no it had once happened, if it ever became a problem again you could think oh that had never happened before why would it now. but having learned about it you may be able to stop it in the early stages.

  3. I think it’s helps because the world can be always looking for early signs of it so it can stop it in the early stages. Also it stays in our minds so we know that it can never happen again.
